After Effects
After the treatment many reactions can be experienced. This is a positive result because massage makes the body systems work more efficiently, speeding up elimination of toxins. So called “healing crises” may occur when there are a lot of toxins in the body - which can happen when the client doesn’t have regular massage or when the person is very tired. The after effects may include:
- Frequent urination due to stimulation of the lymphatic system
- Headaches the nerve fibres responding to the deep work undertaken
- Thirst
- Sleepiness due to release of toxins encouraged by the treatment and start of healing process, which require the body to rest
They are positive results just meaning that the healing process has started. They will last for few hours and the day after the person will feel better than before.
Aftercare advice
In order to help the toxins removal process after the treatment it’s advisable to:
- Drink a lot of water to help the body eliminate toxins
- Eat a light vegan-vegetarian meal and fruit
- Stay in a relaxed state to keep the effects of massage, avoiding intense activities
- Have a good sleep afterward

Having enough sleep as a habit
Having enough natural light in the work place and taking fresh air
Keeping a correct posture at work to avoid tension nd taking regular breaks
Following a healthy diet and not overeating
Drinking a lot of water, fruit juices and herbal teas
Reducing anti-nutrients like alcohol, tobacco and stimulating substances like coffee, tea, carbonated or energy drinks.
